01 / Who

Character & silhouette

Bastion is the calm one. It stands square, wide shoulders rising and falling as if breathing; in disapproval, the visor narrows. When Bastion braces, the frame on its back opens into an arch and a hex shield settles onto the rail with a dull click and a hum.

Ceramic white with a dark-navy chest plate, wide bevelled shoulders and a folding frame on the back — the bulkiest outline among the couriers, with the same hitbox as everyone. The concept shows weathered ivory armour and a tall, narrow head with a single vertical cyan slit.

  1. When to use it

    When an attacker is lining up on the one segment your whole route depends on — a narrow link between islands, the last stretch before a bridge terminal.

  2. Limit

    It protects neither the hero nor the whole network.

    From the 1.1 game data — may change.

  3. Counterplay

    The shield covers one segment for a short window, and it can’t be placed on rails that are already protected — near the active receiver or inside your own start zone. Wait the window out, or break a different segment of the same route.

Already in the game — as a module

Version 1.0 has no Bastion. Bastion’s ability is the 1.0 module Insulator, which any courier can pick before a match. In 1.1 the module is planned to become this hero, with its rules unchanged.

No model yet

Bastion is the only one of the first three heroes without a 3D model. In the 1.1 work in progress Bastion is marked as not ready, and the hero card reads “This hero’s model arrives in an update”.
