Endless Flow — a solo expedition

Planned for version 1.1: you alone, sector after sector, bringing power back to a darkened archipelago. Nothing on this page is in the current game yet — and details will change while it is being built.

01 / The loop

One sector at a time

The expedition is built on the same rails, pulses and sparks as the team match — only the opponent is the archipelago itself.

  1. Choose a hero

One courier with one ability — from the heroes planned for 1.1.

  2. Enter a sector

Each sector has one main task, sometimes with an optional extra goal.

  3. Deliver or defend

Connect the generator to the target and deliver pulses — or keep a turbine powered while machines cut your network.

  4. Pick 1 of 3 upgrades

Each upgrade lasts until the end of the run.

↺ next sector

A checkpoint every five sectors

A safe stop: carry on, or end the run and keep what you earned.

There is no last sector. Sectors are assembled from hand-made, tested layouts — not random geometry.

The first planned machine is the Cutter: it walks up to a powered rail and cuts it after a visible wind-up. No enemy appears without warning next to you or on the target you protect.

02 / Biomes

Three biomes on the way

Concept art shows the mood we are aiming for. The expedition will use the match camera, looking down at the field — so in the game it will look like the arena, not like these paintings.

  1. Concept art: sunlit floating islands with white towers, gardens and glowing rails above a sea of clouds.Concept art

    Coil Gardens

Bright islands with plants and tall coils.

    First to be built

Built on the look of the 1.0 arena Coil Garden — a different place with a similar name.

  2. Concept art: brass cranes, cargo crates and arched bridges with glowing rails at sunset above the clouds.Concept art

    Copper Wharves

    Industrial bridges and cargo platforms.

    Later stage

Not the 1.0 arena Cloud Wharf. In-game art for this biome doesn’t exist yet.

  3. Concept art: dark storm clouds, a stone bridge with orange rails between floating islands and towers with cyan beacons.Concept art

    Storm Belt

Cold clouds, emergency beacons and discharges marked in advance.

    Later stage

Exists only as a description and this concept so far.

All the art and the 1.0 arenas are on the World page

03 / Between runs

What stays with you

  • Parts

The one planned currency. Earned only in the expedition, from finished sectors and checkpoints — never sold.

  • Workshop

Spend Parts on upgrades that work only in the expedition. They have no effect in team matches.

  • A living base

Your base lights up by itself as you reach checkpoints — a beacon, then the workshop, then more. No building, no waiting timers.

  • Records

Kept on your device. No leaderboards.

04 / Not decided yet

What we don’t know yet

Rather than guess, here is what is still open. When these questions are answered, this page will be updated.

  • A release date. Version 1.1 has none, and we won’t show a countdown.
  • How long a sector takes. It will be measured in playtests first.
  • Every number of the economy — how many Parts things give or cost.
  • Whether there will be purchases in 1.1. There are none in the first stage.
  • The full list of upgrades, enemies and sector tasks beyond the first ones.
  • Which heroes are available in the expedition and how you unlock them.
  • What happens when you lose a sector. The current plan: the run ends, and the Parts you earned stay.
  • The final name of the mode: “Endless Flow” is a working name, and in the game’s design document the mode is called “Expedition”.

Until then: the team match

Everything the expedition is built on — rails, pulses, sparks, bridges — is already in VELTRAIL 1.0.
