Getting the game

When can I play VELTRAIL?

VELTRAIL 1.0 was submitted to Apple’s App Review on 6 October 2026. It will be released on the App Store for iPhone and iPad automatically once Apple approves it; the exact day depends on the review.

We will not guess a date. Once there is a store link, it will be added to the Where to play page and to this answer.

Does it run on iPad?

Yes. VELTRAIL 1.0 is one app for iPhone and iPad, played in landscape. It needs iOS 15.0 or later and a device with an A12 chip or newer.

So far the game has been tested on iPhone. If something looks wrong on your iPad, please write to the developer and mention the model.

Can I adjust the controls?

Yes. The game is played with two thumbs on the touch screen, and its settings include a left-handed layout, control size and opacity, aim assist, vibration and reduced motion. Team colours always come with a shape — ▲ for Amber, ● for Azure — so they don’t depend on colour alone.

Is there an Android version?

A Google Play release is in preparation. There is no date yet. Once it is published on Google Play, the store link will be added to this site.

Can I play in a browser, on PC or on Mac?

No. There is no browser, PC or Mac version. The small interactive demonstration on the home page only illustrates the idea of the game; it is not the game.

Price and ads

Is VELTRAIL free? Are there in-app purchases?

VELTRAIL is free to download and is financed by ads from Google AdMob. Version 1.0 has no in-app purchases. Cosmetic items for your courier (Appearance in the menu) unlock as you play; some can be unlocked earlier by watching an ad.

When do ads appear?

Banner ads in menus, occasional full-screen ads at breaks between matches or when you open the game, and rewarded ads that you can choose to watch for a bonus.

Never during a match or a pause, in the tutorial, while you play a challenge, in replays, on the results screen or on the way to a rematch. A reward comes only when the ad is watched to the end.

Online play

How does online play work?

Choose Play online for a quick match, or create a room and share its code with friends. Matches are 3 vs 3; empty slots are filled by bots that are always labelled BOT.

Practice with bots works offline: you and five bots, at three difficulty levels. If you lose the connection during an online match, you can rejoin within 20 seconds; meanwhile a bot drives your courier.

Where is the game server?

There is one server, in Frankfurt, Germany (hosting provider UpCloud). It keeps your player name, your control inputs and your IP address in memory only while you play; it writes no player names or IP addresses to disk or to its logs.

Online match traffic is not encrypted, so please don’t use your real name as your player name. Details: app privacy policy.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no chat. Your profile, progress and settings are stored only on your device, so they are not synced between devices and uninstalling the game deletes them.

Player names and safety

What are the rules for player names?

Your player name is the only thing other players see of you. It has up to 16 characters: letters, digits, spaces and - _ . ' — no emoji. Before your first online game the app shows the rules for player names and asks you to accept them.

Names are checked on your device and on the server. The server replaces a name it rejects with a default name such as “Courier 2” before anyone sees it.

How do I report a player?

Tap Report next to the player — in the room, in the pause menu of an online match or on its results screen. The game prepares an e-mail to us with the name and a reference to the match; you send it from your mail app. We review every report within 24 hours. Without accounts we act on the name, not on a person. More: how reports work.

How do I block a player?

Tap Block in the same places. Your game then shows “Hidden player #N” instead of that name, on your device only — the other player isn’t told. To unblock someone, or to hide all other names, open Settings ▸ Profile. More: blocking.

Languages and your data

Which languages does the game support?

English and Russian. By default the game follows your device language; you can switch it in Settings ▸ Language. This website is also in English and Russian.

How do I delete my data?

Your profile, progress and settings are stored only on your device: uninstalling the game deletes them. You can clear the local game statistics in Settings ▸ Data. The game server keeps nothing once your match has ended, and there is no account to delete.

Your rights and how to exercise them are in the app privacy policy, “Your rights”. For advertising data, see your ad choices.
