VELTRAIL is a team game for iPhone and iPad: three couriers against three. You lay rails just by moving, send pulses of energy from your generator to the receiver — and cut the rival route before their pulses get through.
Recorded in the gameCoil Garden, round 1. Amber and azure rail networks fight for the central receiver: rails are cut, pulses arrive, sparks are carried in by hand.Version 1.0 code, rendered on a Mac · touch interface · all six couriers are bots · no sound

01 / The loop
Every move leaves a rail
There is no build menu. You skate, the rail follows, and the network you draw decides who scores. Six ideas are all you need.
01
Ride — the rail follows
Laying is on from the start, so wherever your courier skates, a rail appears behind it. New rail costs resource — 1 per metre from a reserve of 100 that refills while you’re not spending. A rail you stop riding over fades after 30 seconds.
02
Connect the generator to the receiver
Each team has its own generator. The arena has three receivers, and one of them is active each round. When your rails link the two, the generator sends a pulse every 3 seconds. It rides the shortest powered path by itself at 8 m/s — and every pulse that arrives is a point.

03
Cut their route
Your pulse tool breaks enemy rails up to 6 m away. A pulse on a broken rail drops out as a spark. Rails of different teams never join, even where they cross — to get through, you cut.

04
Carry sparks by hand
Anyone can pick up a spark — just touch it. Stay inside the active receiver’s ring for 0.4 s to deliver it. Deliver the other team’s spark and it is an interception: the point is yours.

05
The receiver guard
Rails of both teams within 1.6 m of the active receiver can’t be broken. Nobody wins by camping at the door — the fight happens on the approach.
06
Power opens bridges
Bring a powered rail to a bridge terminal and the bridge opens — for everyone, rivals included. If the power is lost, it warns for 3 seconds, then closes.

Small rules that matter
On your own powered rail you ride about a third faster. Enemy and unpowered rails give no boost.
Rails are not walls and do no damage.
Three hits overload a courier: it drops any spark and returns to its start after 3 s. Nobody scores for it.
Inside your own start zone you can’t be hit, and your own rails there can’t be broken.
02 / The match
Three rounds. Forty-five seconds each.
Two teams of three couriers. The team with more points after three rounds wins. Between rounds the field resets: pulses and sparks in transit vanish, rails and bridges disappear, the score stays — and the next receiver lights up. The order of receivers is shown before the match.
A tie goes to overtime on the central receiver: up to 20 seconds, and the first delivery wins. Simultaneous deliveries — or none — make it a draw.
Match timeline: 3-second countdown, then three rounds of 45 seconds with 4-second breaks; overtime of up to 20 seconds only after a tie.

03 / Modules
Pick a module, not a power-up
Before the match you choose one of three modules. All three are available from the start. A module sets your role, but everyone can build, repair and intercept — speed, resource and power are the same for all.

Two thumbs. A camera that never turns.
VELTRAIL 1.0 is played with touch, in landscape. The camera looks down at a fixed angle and never rotates, so north is always north.

Offline, online, or still learning
On this device
Practice with bots
An offline 3 vs 3: you and five bots — two on your team, three against you. No connection needed. Pick the arena, your side and the bot difficulty.
EasyBots react slower and make more mistakes.
NormalBalanced bots for a regular game.
HardQuick reactions and longer planning. Same rules as you.
Harder bots only think faster. They never get more speed, resource or power than you.
Online
Quick match or a private room
Quick match finds players for you. Or create a room, share its code with friends, and the host starts when everyone is ready. Empty slots can be filled by bots, and bots are always labelled BOT — they are never passed off as people.

Key-moment replay
After a match, “Watch the key moment” shows the moment that decided it — an interception and delivery, a rescued spark, a last-second or overtime delivery. It appears only when the match had such a moment.
Appearance
Cosmetic items unlock as you level up by playing; some can be unlocked earlier by watching a rewarded ad. Appearance never changes speed, size or how visible your signals are.
06 / Arenas
Three arenas, three ways to fight
Each arena has its own routes, levels and bridges. The receiver order is fixed per arena and shown before the match.
