The world goes dark. You draw light.

VELTRAIL is a 3 vs 3 team game about speed and energy routes above a sea of clouds. Coming to iPhone and iPad.

01The first spark

One line.A world reconnected.

In VELTRAIL the route is the game. There is no build menu: you ride, and a rail stays behind you.

  1. 01 Rail

    Move, and the rail follows

Your courier lays a rail just by moving. Set off from your team’s generator and the line stays behind you.

  2. 02 Pulse

Link the generator to the receiver

Once your team’s rails connect your generator to the active receiver, pulses ride the line on their own. Every pulse that arrives is a point.

  3. 03 Cut

    Cut theirs, guard yours

The other team breaks your rails with the pulse tool, and you break theirs. A pulse that loses its path drops as a spark.

  4. 04 Spark

    Deliver the spark yourself

Anyone can pick up a spark, even the other team. Carry it into the receiver by hand and the point is yours.

Rails right next to the active receiver are protected, so the fight happens on the approach.

02Try it

Light the first island

Build a route right on this page and watch the energy arrive.

GoalConnect the generator to the receiver through neighbouring junctions.

  • Click or tap a junction next to the end of the rail.
  • Keyboard: Tab to a junction, then Enter or Space.
  • Or drag across the junctions in one stroke.
  • Pick a junction already on the rail to step back to it.

A simplified website demonstration, not the game itself: in VELTRAIL you lay rails by riding, in 3 vs 3 matches.

Interactive demonstration

Route Generator

Route: Generator. Pick a junction next to the generator.

Still illustration: a rail runs from the generator through Junction A and Junction C to the receiver; the turbine turns and the island is lit. With JavaScript on, you can lay the route yourself.

The first island is alive. Ready for the full game?

A website demonstration: nothing is saved or unlocked in the game.

What a match looks like

Two teams of three couriers, three short rounds. These are real screenshots from the game on an iPhone; every courier in them is controlled by a bot.

04Couriers

In development · version 1.1

Eight couriers, one ability each

Version 1.1, now in development, is planned to add heroes: mechanical couriers, each with its own silhouette and a single ability, and all with the same base stats.

Today, in version 1.0, every player drives a team-coloured courier and picks one of three modules.

Intercept and escort

Spark

Planned ability Second dash: two dash charges instead of one. It grows out of the Pulse Step module of version 1.0.

Spark the courier is not the spark you carry in a match.

05The world

Islands above the clouds

Every match is played on a ceramic arena floating over a sea of clouds. Three arenas are in the game today; the solo expedition of version 1.1 is planned to add whole biomes.
